Fall is a time of transition, and the best skin care routines will adjust to correct any summer damage that has occurred and prepare your skin for winter. As the temperatures drop, and the air becomes drier, your skin may lose precious moisture. In addition, sun, chlorine, and saltwater may have taken a toll on your skin throughout the summer.  Have your skin professionally assessed to tailor your skin care routine perfectly, and follow these simple rules:

Don’t shelve the sunscreen

Whether you’re expecting a clear autumn day or a gray one, your skin still needs protection from damaging ultraviolet rays.  Between the stress of the upcoming holidays and the toll that winter weather takes on your skin, forgetting sunscreen is still a no-no, even in the off season! Pick a facial sunscreen with a light tint to perk up your complexion.

Exfoliate!

Show your freshest face for fall.  Break through summer sun damage, and keep dry skin at bay with consistent exfoliation.  Professional exfoliation is the gold standard, and now is a great time to consider microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. For at home maintenance, oil-based sugar scrubs gently remove old skin cells without stripping skin of its moisture.

Moisturize. No, really.

In Las Vegas we’re used to the dryness, but the brisk winds of fall and winter push our skin to it’s limits.  Now is the time to consider adding a richer, more protective cream to your moisturizing arsenal.  Look for a cream base over a lotion base, and for very dry skin (or very dry weather) consider and oil-based cream.
