winter blues?
Is the winter weather taking a toll on your skin? If you’re looking less than your best, there’s no need to fret! Start with a few simple steps, and you’ll be headed in the right direction in no time.
Step 1: Moisturize
When temperatures plummet, you should switch out your bar soaps for cleansing gels. Bar soaps are harsh on your skin and can strip it of oils, making it crack and dry out. Gels are gentler. Also, after washing, be sure to apply moisturizer to lock in your skin’s natural moisture.
step 2: exfoliate
In addition to moisturizing, you should also be exfoliating to remove your excess dead skin cells. Find an exfoliating scrub or make your own, and be sure it use it once or twice per week. Be careful not to exfoliate too much—scrubs can aggravate your skin and make it look red. You can also use a scrub or an old toothbrush and warm water to exfoliate your lips. You don’t want your lipstick looking flaky! Also, consider investing in a loofah to exfoliate your body while you’re washing in the shower.
Winter can be hard on your skin, but there are measures you can take to fight it. Feel good in your own skin! Schedule your next appointment online, or call us to set up your first consultation.
